Rubber Balcony Tiles is a weather-resistant elastic surface covering for balconies, loggias and conservatories. It gives small outdoor living areas a calm, continuous appearance while reducing footfall noise, cold from below and the hard feel of an exposed balcony surface. The finely textured EPDM wear layer is comfortable for bare feet, children and pets, and provides grip when the surface is dry or wet.
Simple loose-lay installation
The tiles are installed floating on a level, load-bearing substrate, without adhesive or further fixing. The precision-calibrated jigsaw interlock brings the square edges tightly together and creates a hairline joint that is barely visible on the balcony surface. Cutting along walls, balustrade posts, drains or door thresholds can be carried out with a jigsaw or circular saw. Individual tiles can be lifted for inspection, replacement or later extension, which is useful in rented and owner-occupied properties alike.
Impact sound and outdoor comfort
The elastic construction reduces noise from walking, moving chairs and rolling planters, helping to limit sound transmission in apartment buildings. It also insulates against cold from the substrate, making the balcony more comfortable when sitting, playing or walking barefoot. The slip-resistant surface gives secure footing in everyday use, including after rain or cleaning. Because rubber balcony tiles is not bonded, access to the underlying balcony structure remains possible when required.
Drainage and weather exposure
The tile covering is water-permeable across the surface, and the underside drainage profile allows water to run away with the fall of the base. This helps prevent standing water on rubber balcony tiles and supports year-round use. The EPDM surface is weather-resistant, frost-resistant and UV-stabilised. Regular cleaning is straightforward: loose dirt can be swept away, and the surface can be rinsed or washed with standard cleaning methods suitable for outdoor areas.
Two-layer construction
The covering consists of an EPDM rubber granule wear layer over an ELT rubber granule base layer. The EPDM layer provides the coloured, UV-stabilised surface and fine texture; the ELT layer contributes elasticity, support and sound reduction. When additional damping or insulation is required, the balcony covering can be combined with Functional Plates XX in a sandwich build-up.
